The body of the hostage was reportedly found in the Morag area north of the city of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip on Thursday, according to a statement.
The return is part of the ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel brokered by the US. Hamas has agreed to hand over 28 of the hostages and so far 24 have been returned.
At the same time, Israel is reported to have carried out airstrikes on three different areas in Gaza, according to Israeli media. The affected areas are said to be the eastern parts of the city of Khan Yunis, a school northeast of the city of Beit Lahia, and Gaza City.
The ceasefire agreement was signed on October 10, but violations have occurred.
