A court in Beijing, China has ruled that Malaysian Airlines must pay the equivalent of SEK 175,000 each to eight families whose relatives were on board the missing MH370.

Although it is not known what happened to the plane, everyone on board has been declared dead on the Boeing 777 plane that disappeared from radar on March 8, 2014. Most of the plane's 239 passengers and crew were from China and the plane was en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.

Another 23 lawsuits against the airline by relatives are to be assessed, according to the court. Malaysian Airlines has reached settlements in 47 cases.

Despite the largest search effort in the history of aviation, the plane has not yet been found. However, the Malaysian Ministry of Transport is set to resume the search at the end of December.
