The regions were ordered by the Court of Appeal in Gothenburg to pay ten million SEK each in procurement damages.
The appeal is being made because the regions believe, among other things, that the Court of Appeal made an error regarding "the limitation period and how the exception rules in the Public Procurement Act may be used in contract amendments," Region Norrbotten writes in a press release.
When Cambio, which is behind Cosmic, announced in the fall of 2022 that it could not deliver the system on time, the regions could have demanded a SEK 1 million fine. Instead, they signed a new agreement with Cambio and continued the deal, despite knowing that it could be illegal, according to the ruling.
