We have probably not had full control over how the management structure has looked and developed over the years, says Anna-Lena Danielsson (S), chairman of the region's health and medical care committee, to the channel.
Now the managers are expected to become fewer in the care sector after a decision that managers as a general rule should have between 20 to 30 employees under them. According to the region, this means a saving of 3 million kronor.
The opposition parties, however, believe that it is possible to save significantly more. The Liberal Håkan Andersson, vice chairman of the committee, believes that the region can save up to 50 million kronor.
Otherwise, I think you have been too cautious in reducing the number of managers, he says to the channel.
In addition to the aforementioned 60 managers, there are around 100 managers with fewer than ten employees under them in the region.
