Last year, it was revealed that the installation company Bravida had inflated its invoices to Region Skåne by over two million kronor, which led to three executives at the company being prosecuted for gross fraud.
Region Skåne's extended investigation shows that the company's overcharging has been more extensive than previously known, writes the authority in a press release.
In total, Region Skåne is demanding 11.4 million kronor back from Bravida. Of the amount, 7.9 million consists of overcharging and 3.5 million extra costs for investigations.
"The entire story is extremely serious, as it involves a company systematically invoicing for work that was not performed and having excessively high markups on material purchases", says Pål Svensson, property director at Region Skåne, according to the press release.
