Thailand-based cryptocurrency investor Christopher Harborne announced a donation of over $50 million on Saturday, BBC reports. The day before, entrepreneur Ben Delo had pledged the same amount, which is said to have sparked Harborne's competitive instincts.
In total, Reform UK has received nearly one billion kronor, 944 million, in two days. That's more than all British parties received in donations last year.
Reform UK is also being investigated for breaches of the country's donation rules. British electoral law stipulates that parties may only accept donations from British voters or companies registered in the UK. But an investigation has revealed how senior party officials appear to be trying to circumvent the rules.
