The total profit last year was just under SEK 5.7 billion, slightly lower than in 2024, when the figure was SEK 6.3 billion.
"It's clearly going in the right direction. Criminal profits have decreased for two years in a row, but it's still a lot of money we're talking about," says Johan Olsson of the police to the radio.
The peak was reached in 2023 with just over SEK 7.5 billion.
Improved collaboration with banks and the police's increased focus on crime prevention are cited as reasons for the decrease.
"The power remains in the networks; they're trying. What we are successful in is that they get less money each time," says Johan Olsson.
