In total, greenhouse gas emissions from the Swedish economy decreased by 1.8 percent in 2025 compared with 2024.
The decrease was greatest in the construction industry, where emissions fell by 5.4 percent, corresponding to 117 kilotonnes of carbon dioxide equivalents.
In the mineral extraction industry, emissions increased by 6.6 percent, and in agriculture, forestry and fishing they rose by 1.6 percent.
The figures, presented by Statistics Sweden (SCB), include preliminary production emissions to air from Swedish companies and households. The statistics cover emissions that occurred both outside and inside Sweden's borders.
