It was during the away match against Czech side Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League qualifiers last week that Mladic was celebrated with songs and a banner, among other things.
Mladic was called the “butcher of Bosnia.” He was sentenced to life in prison in 2017 for his role in the Bosnian War and the Srebrenica genocide in the 1990s.
Red Star has now been ordered to pay around one million kronor (90,000 euros) in fines, and no away fans are allowed at the match against Lugano in Switzerland in the Conference League in mid-October.
Mladic was 84 years old and served a life sentence until his death.
