The New York Stock Exchange fell on Thursday as investors fled asset managers' stocks amid worries about the tense situation between the United States and Iran. Klarna's stock plunged, losing more than a quarter of its value.

The Dow Jones industrial average fell 0.5 percent, while the broad S&P 500 index and the technology-heavy Nasdaq fell 0.3 percent.

Alternative asset manager Blue Owl Capital fell 6 percent, while traditional asset managers such as Blackstone and Apollo Global Management each fell just over 5 percent.

It was even worse for the Swedish payments company Klarna, whose weak forecast in its quarterly report caused the stock to plummet by almost 27 percent.

The question of whether the United States will attack Iran is another factor weighing on the stock market. On Thursday, US President Donald Trump said he would decide on a possible attack within the next ten days.
