The New York stock exchange ended the trading day on a low note. The broad S&P 500 index fell 0,8 percent, the technology-heavy Nasdaq composite index dropped 0,7 percent, and the Dow Jones industrial index sank 1,3 percent.

Among the winners were TV giant Warner Bros Discovery, which rose 2,4 percent, Facebook owner Meta, which climbed 3,1 percent, and discount chain Dollar Tree, which increased 1,3 percent.

Semiconductor giant Nvidia also ended on a plus, 2,8 percent.

Several fast-food chains had a weak day on the stock exchange. Pizza chain Domino's fell 13,6 percent, and Chipotle dropped 3,5.

Cosmetics company Estée Lauder was also one of Thursday's losers, falling 3,8 percent.
