For SVT Play, it is a record for the number of people watching a broadcast at the same time.

"We see enormous interest in the World Cup; the big victory for Sweden raised the temperature even more, and the tournament has only just begun," says SVT's sports director Max Bursell in a statement.

Sweden won the match, which started at 4:00 a.m. on Monday, 5–1.

The men's football match against the Netherlands on Midsummer's Day will be broadcast on TV 4. SVT will broadcast the final group stage match against Japan on June 26.
