An orange warning for high flows in streams and rivers, with a risk of flooding, applies from Boden up towards Jokkmokk.
A yellow warning applies south and north of that, affecting Luleå and Kalix respectively and further northwest.
For Boden, a specific warning also applies for flooding around Buddbyträsket and Bodträsket in central Boden.
The rescue service in Boden is under pressure and has requested extra resources, reports P4 Norrbotten.
"In my 26 years working in the rescue service in Boden, we have not seen this amount of water, not even during the snowmelt period," rescue chief Magnus Nilsson tells the channel.
The emergency services have gone into emergency mode and the municipality of Boden has activated a central crisis management system.
The danger is that we will have an impact on socially important activities, and that we will have an impact on infrastructure - that is, that roads will become impassable and that we may also have landslides and erosion, says Magnus Nilsson to SVT Nyheter Norrbotten.
The reason for the high flows and flooding is that it has rained continuously for several days, so that the ground has been saturated.
But it should ease off tomorrow. That will help calm the situation. Then there may still be showers during the weekend, but not with the same extent, says SMHI meteorologist Henrik Reimer to TT.
