The statue is 127 centimeters tall and cast in bronze. Girls are a recurring motif in Lena Cronqvist's body of work and appear in both paintings and sculptures by the artist, who was born in 1938 in Karlstad.
Her work "The Engagement", a large portrait of her and her husband Göran Tunström, was auctioned at Bukowskis in 2016 for a record sum of 11.37 million kronor.
Cronqvist passed away in July last year at the age of 86. This weekend, a large retrospective exhibition of her work opens at Värmland Museum.
