In August, price movements were small, down 0.1 percent for tenant-owned apartments nationwide, while villas increased by an average of 0.6 percent compared with the previous month. Over the past year, prices have risen by 4-5 percent, according to Swedish Real Estate Statistics.
But even though the price trend is moderate, a large number of transactions are being recorded.
The number of house transactions rose by seven percent in August to 5,300, compared with the same month last year. "The highest August level recorded since the measurement series began in 2005," Swedish Real Estate Statistics writes.
So far this year, levels are also close to records.
The number of tenant-owned property transactions was 10 percent higher than in August last year.
