Never before have so many contributions been sent to Melodifestivalen. This year's figure beats the record from 2011 when 3,832 contributions were submitted to the competition.
"So incredibly fun that the interest in participating in Melodifestivalen is so great. It is clear that our long-term work to make Melodifestivalen the most attractive stage in Sweden gives results", says competition producer Karin Gunnarsson in a press release.
The work of selecting next year's 30 contributions has begun. But SVT has not yet presented where the heats and the final will be held or who will be the hosts.
