In particular, funding for new construction, expansion or renovation of facilities and premises increased, the Swedish National Inheritance Fund said in a press release.
Both the number of applications and the amount of support paid out increased last year.
A new priority for the fund is to strengthen Sweden's total defense. Thirteen other priority areas already exist, including projects aimed at strengthening physical and mental health and increasing participation in cultural life and in democracy.
Control of funds has also been increased, and more unannounced controls will be added in 2025.
