At 11:59 on Friday, SVT closed the submission period and reported that 189 more entries had been received than last year, which was the previous record.
"It's fun to see that the interest in being in Melodifestivalen is still huge. Now the work begins to develop the songs that will be included and create the whole of Sweden's party in 2027, a work that is as intense as it is enjoyable," says Karin Gunnarsson, competition producer, in a press release.
Melodifestivalen premieres on February 6. SVT has not yet announced which locations will host the semi-finals or where the final will be held. However, it is clear that Björn Kjellman and Oscar Zia will host.
