"The bribes were funneled to the man's private company in connection with the region's investments via a foreign company," the police write on their website.
The man was also acquitted of gross breach of trust and gross accounting fraud, according to P4 Västerbotten.
According to the radio, four other men who were charged in connection with the case were acquitted.
