The case is based on a decision by the European Court of Justice from 2023. It found that UEFA and the International Football Association Board (FIFA) violated EU competition law when they blocked plans for a super league and hindered free competition.
Real Madrid is one of the clubs that has worked hardest to establish a breakaway league in Europe. Uefa and FIFA have been opposing the same idea for many years.
On Wednesday, UEFA's appeal, which was also supported by the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and La Liga, was rejected.
"Real Madrid is delighted that the court has rejected the appeal from Uefa, RFEF and La Liga," the club wrote in a statement.
The club further writes that it will now demand compensation for lost revenue and other "damages".
In 2021, UEFA announced that any clubs that joined the Super League plans would be excluded from all competitions in the UEFA system. Many clubs that had shown interest in the Super League subsequently chose to withdraw.
Real Madrid and Barcelona were the clubs that longest expressed their support for the plans for a new league.
