The Spanish newspaper Marca reports, according to NTB, that the investigation concerns insults directed at Barcelona's young talent Lamine Yamal. The 17-year-old is said to have been subjected to abuse during Friday evening's El Clásico, where Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 4–0.
Yamal scored Barcelona's 3–0 goal in the second half.
"Real Madrid strongly condemns all forms of racism, xenophobia, and violence in football, and regrets the insults expressed by a few supporters in a corner of the stadium yesterday", writes Real Madrid in a statement.
The Spanish giant club writes that they will take the matter further.
"Real Madrid has opened an investigation to find and identify the individuals behind these regrettable and despicable insults in order to take appropriate disciplinary and legal action".
