Things aren't really going well for Real Madrid right now.
Xabi Alonso has been forced to resign as coach of the club, despite the team being second in the league.
His replacement, Álvaro Arbeloa, could have had a better start to his new job.
In the round of 16 of the domestic cup, the Copa del Rey, the team faced modest opposition. Albacete, currently 17th in the Spanish second division, proved to be a tough nut to crack - and it was dramatic.
Down 1–2, the clock was ticking for Real Madrid, who were desperately chasing an equalizer. With a couple of minutes remaining, the equalizer came via a Gonzalo García header.
But it wasn't enough.
In the very last minute of added time, Albacete's Jefté Betancor scored a superb lob to secure an astonishing 3–2 lead and send his team through in the cup. Wild scenes of celebration erupted on the pitch, and Albacete players were seen in tears of joy.
Real Madrid lost the final to Barcelona last year.
