When Real Madrid presented the starting eleven for the meeting with Saudi Arabian Al-Hilal in the club team World Championship, the superstar Kylian Mbappé was completely absent from the squad.

There was an explanation. According to the Spanish newspaper Marca, the star is fever-sick and therefore not available for play.

In Mbappé's absence, Gonzalo Garcia, 21, received trust from the start.

The all-whites from the Spanish capital did not seem to miss their superstar all too much. In the 34th minute, the aforementioned Garcia could place the leading goal.

The reply would come quickly from Al-Hilal, who equalized from the penalty spot, just before the break.

1-1 held up for the rest of the match and in the final stages, Federico Valderde also missed a penalty for Real Madrid.

The other teams in Real Madrid's group are Mexican Pachuca and Salzburg from Austria.
