The story about the friends Torun, Beda, Ottilia, and Karolina was awarded the prize in the feelgood category at the Storytel Awards in March and was one of the best-selling novels in Sweden last year.
Among the 20 titles nominated for the prize are also "Deep into the Forest" by Marie Hermanson, "The Village Beast" by Sven Olov Karlsson, and "All the Wonderful Mistakes" by Marian Keyes.
The Book of the Year, instituted by Bonnier book clubs, is celebrating its tenth anniversary. The winner is voted for by the readers themselves, with a shorter nomination list at the end of June and a final vote that ends on 31/8. The prize winner will be announced at the Book Fair in Gothenburg on 26/9.
