Defender Rasmus Sandin is on site at the World Championship – now he hopes his close friend William Nylander also shows up. It would be really cool to be reunited with him, the 25-year-old Washington star.

The defenseman Rasmus Sandin and the forward William Karlsson are Tre Kronor's latest additions to the home-VM.

Now only one spot remains in the VM squad, and it is reserved for the forward star William Nylander, whose Toronto was eliminated from the playoffs on Monday night.

Rasmus Sandin is a close friend of Nylander after they played together for four seasons in Toronto before the defenseman was traded to Washington last season.

Have you messaged him?

Actually not, but it will be done during the day, says Sandin.

He has played 90-95 matches this year, so we'll see how he feels, regarding the chance that the friend will board the plane to Stockholm.

Rasmus Sandin is playing his second VM with Tre Kronor and for him it was a given to accept the offer to play.

It went fast, they called in the morning and nine hours later I was on the plane. It was a given when the body felt good, it's special to get to come home and play in front of family and friends.

Tre Kronor will face Canada in the group final at the Globen on Tuesday evening before the playoffs begin on Thursday evening.
