The Olympic-qualified skier has had a tough time in his personal life since last summer, when his fiancée, Carolina Matovac, suffered a sudden heart failure during a trip to France. She underwent a heart transplant after being on life support for several weeks.
Matovac was pregnant when she fell ill, but recently she announced on Instagram that she had suffered a miscarriage.
After recording three goals and two assists in the road game against Toronto, the 25-year-old defender thanked his teammates for their support during the tough time.
