First, the 26-year-old gave his team a 2-1 lead. Then the Swedish star defender had a good chance to score again. But something happened, and Dahlin went to the bench.
He then had to go to the dressing room before returning to the locker room.
Shortly afterwards, Buffalo announced on X that the Swede would not return to the game.
After the game, coach Lindy Ruff confirmed that the Swede had suffered an upper-body injury and would not travel with the team to play Montreal.
"We're taking it day by day. They can take better care of him here," Ruff said.
Buffalo won the game 5-3.
