16 contestants made it from the final audition to "Idol's" two live Saturday finals on TV4 where the contestants will be reduced to 12.
In the first final round, Nicolina-Mercedes Brandström competed against Karl Noremo, Malva Turestedt Cederholm against Jonas Elfqvist, Rasmus Bergman against Arvid Lorentsson, and Alma Adolfsson against Love Stenmarck.
Host Pär Lernström got help steering the ship from Oscar Zia, while the jury got reinforcement from Molly Sandén.
Duel winners Karl Noremo, Jonas Elfqvist, and Arvid Lorentsson went directly to the merge.
So did well-known son Love Stenmarck, who avoided qualifying for the duels. Viewers voted him as the winner when he was pitted against the jury's favorite Alma Adolfsson.
After a new vote, it became clear that Rasmus Bergman and Alma Adolfsson will leave the competition, while Nicolina-Mercedes Brandström and Malva Turestedt Cederholm go to the merge.
I'm so grateful that I got to do this. "Idol" is very important because it's a step towards becoming an artist. But there are many steps, says Alma Adolfsson on TV4 after the message that she is forced to leave.
In the next Saturday's final round, two more will leave the competition. Then Love Backlund will compete against Nora Lundmark, Sofia Gregersen against Rebecca Larsson, Jenovic Luyindula against Allan Ismail, and Ingrid Enckell against Tuva Råvall.
