The former Calgary player was traded to Vegas less than a week ago, but due to visa issues, Andersson's debut with the new team has been delayed.
On Saturday night, local time in Sweden, it was time. But it wasn't until the final period that the Swede recorded a point, when he played a pass to Mark Stone, who scored the decisive 6–3 goal.
"He's good at handling the puck, he's on his toes, very confident in his decision-making," Vegas coach Bruce Cassidy said of Andersson after the game, according to nhl.com.
Defender Andersson has been selected to play for Tre Kronor at the Milano-Cortina Olympics in February.
