Rob Frith, owner of Neptoon Records, thought he had bought a pirate copy of the Beatles demo band. But when he played the band several years later, he realized it was probably a copy of the band's original recording from an audition in 1962, at Decca Studios in London, writes Billboard.
The quality is completely unreal, says Frith about the recording.
He bought the band from a former record label manager, who got the band from a producer in London in the 1970s.
More than 60 years after the original recording, fans can now hear an excerpt of the first track, "Money (that's what I want)", via Frith's social media. He does not plan to sell the band.
