Offset, formerly of the hip-hop group Migos, is receiving treatment for a gunshot wound that is not considered life-threatening.
"We can confirm that Offset was shot and is currently in the hospital receiving medical care," the artist's spokesperson told Variety.
His condition is described as "stable."
Details of the incident are still scarce, but according to TMZ, the rapper was shot near a hotel in the city. Police say two people have been arrested following the incident.
The shooting comes just over three years after Migos member Takeoff was shot and killed outside a Houston bowling alley. Police say the shooting stemmed from an argument over a dice game that went wrong. A man is set to stand trial for the murder in November, NME reports.
The late rap star, whose real name was Kirshnik Khari Ball, died at the age of 28.
