The Court of Appeal increases the sentence for an 18-year-old man convicted of, among other things, rape and aggravated assault against a young woman in Motala, reports P4 Östergötland.
The sentence is increased from four years to eight years in prison since the Court of Appeal has deemed it to be a case of aggravated rape. The damages are also increased to approximately 600,000 kronor.
A 14-year-old boy is also deemed guilty of the crimes, but due to his age, he cannot be punished. However, he is required to pay approximately 350,000 kronor of the damages to the victim jointly with the 18-year-old.
The assaults took place last summer. The young woman was also burned with cigarettes and cut with a knife.
