The two women say in a BBC documentary that they were raped by their husbands during the filming of “Married at First Sight UK”, which is the British version of “Married at First Sight”, and are highly critical of the channel. They believe that they were not sufficiently protected by the production.

Aware of allegations

A third woman also accuses a male participant of committing a sexual act without her consent.

Channel 4 was aware of some allegations before the broadcast, but only removed the episodes from its streaming services on Monday, the BBC writes.

The channel has now appointed an external review, but production company CPL denies the allegations and claims that their security procedures are of the “highest class.” The British media authority Ofcom is also investigating the incident.

SVT Play has not shown any British seasons of the program since 2019. However, several seasons have been available to watch on TV4 Play and a new season was due to start airing next week, but the program has been unavailable since Tuesday morning. Norwegian TV2 is also removing the latest seasons of the program, Dagbladet writes.

“We are not changing anything”

However, the events will not affect how SVT works with the Swedish version of the program, according to Christina Hill, program manager for culture at SVT.

"We're not changing anything, but this shows that all television that is about people sharing their most private things must be handled with great respect. But I think we have very good procedures and work methodically on these issues," she says.
