"I am very happy, but I do not intend to stay here," Ranefur tells SVT.
Wen Ruibo is ranked number 12 in the world and was of course the big favourite, but the Swede wanted something else. After 11–7, 5–11, 11–6, 5–11, it went to a fifth and decisive set.
There, Ranefur, ranked 64th in the world, kept his nerve best and on his second match point he was able to clinch it 11–7.
"I'm super happy with the match and the performance. I continue to serve well," says Ranefur.
In Friday's round of 16, Ranefur will face Tomislav Pucar from Croatia.
The other three Swedes were eliminated in the second singles round, Kristian Karlsson and Anton Källberg on the men's side and Stina Källberg on the women's side.
