This means that Liljegren will miss the last three league matches and the first quarterfinal match in the playoffs.

The Swedish Ice Hockey Association's disciplinary committee also imposes a fine of 5,400 kronor.

Liljegren received a match penalty for the hit and Korhonen was forced to leave the game.

"I misjudged the situation and hit the goalkeeper with more force and my intuition was not to get into the situation as it unfolded", Liljegren stated to the disciplinary committee.

The committee states in its decision that "a goalkeeper is not fair game just because the contact occurs outside the goal area" and writes that the tackle was disrespectful.

Liljegren has scored 29 points (8 goals+21 assists) so far this season.
