The diabolical leader of the country Panem has previously been played by Donald Sutherland – while Ralph Fiennes, among other things, has played the arch-villain Voldemort" in the "Harry Potter" films. He was also seen in the papal drama "The Conclave".
The film is based on the second precursor to the original trilogy in the book series "The Hunger Games", following "The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes" from 2020.
The film's universe takes place in a dystopian world, where citizens of the country Panem are randomly selected to fight as live TV entertainment. The upcoming film takes place several years before the original trilogy, before Coriolanus Snow becomes president of Panem.
The director is Francis Lawrence and "Euphoria" actor Hunter Schafer has been confirmed for one of the roles in the film, which is said to premiere in November 2026.
