It was goal number 32 for the season for the Swede, who in the first period chipped the puck past the opposing goalkeeper and extended Pittsburgh's lead to 3–1.
Despite Columbus reducing the lead twice, they never caught up and with two minutes of playing time left in the final period, Rickard Rakell contributed with an additional assist. The home team Pittsburgh won 6–3.
It's always fun to win, so I had a lot of fun, says Rakell to reporters after the game.
Pittsburgh coach Mike Sullivan notes, however, that you can't get comfortable.
I still think there are areas to grow, there are areas where we need to get better. Particularly on the defensive side of the puck, he says and continues:
When it comes down to it, it's about details and commitment, and I know we're capable of that.
