The iconic Piazza del Plebiscito square in Naples, Italy, was transformed into a volleyball arena with space for just over 6,000 spectators during the evening.
The match was first postponed for just over 15 minutes due to rain, and once the first set got underway, the rain continued, causing the match to be suspended.
When play resumed, the home nation and reigning world champion Italy won 25-22, 25-21, 25-17.
"It was incredibly cool anyway, even though it was a shame we didn't win a set. We deserved that," Jacob Link tells SVT.
