Real Madrid writes on its website that Rafael Nadal, 40, will be able to contribute a great deal to the football club thanks to his success on the tennis court.
“He is a role model in Spanish and international sport, and he will contribute to the present and future of the club,” Real Madrid writes.
Nadal has supported Real Madrid since childhood and has long been an honorary member of the club. His uncle, Miguel Ángel Nadal, played several seasons for Barcelona in the 1990s.
During his tennis career, Nadal won 22 Grand Slam titles, among other achievements.
