It was just before the defeat to Malmö that Färjestad announced the Czech center had extended his contract through the 2028–29 season. The 30-year-old scored his fourth goal of the season in his eighth game with just a touch of pace.
That goal made it 2–2 at the end of the first period. Färjestad then pulled away to win outright.
"We shifted into a different gear in the second period and showed that we are a good team. It’s fair to say we managed to put them away," defender Filip Roos, who scored his first goal of the season to make it 3–2, told TV4.
Further down the table, HV71 earned its first three points of the season with a 3–2 home win against Brynäs.
