The Brynäs forward missed the semi-final clash against Finland, a Swedish victory on penalties, due to illness.
Ahead of the final against the Czech Republic on Tuesday night, there is a chance Lucas Pettersson could be included.
"He has been here and trained. We will announce our lineup. But we are hopeful. We need all the hours until it becomes official. Then we will make a decision here later in the afternoon (American time)," Hävelid told Aftonbladet after the Swedish match warm-up.
According to Hävelid, Pettersson has been isolated at the hotel.
"Yes, it's kind of standard. But I'm glad he's been able to be here and that he's been running and getting his body going," Hävelid said.
Lucas Pettersson has scored four goals and two assists so far in the Junior World Cup.
Sweden is chasing its first gold in the Junior World Championships since 2012, and the final against the Czech Republic starts at 2:30 AM local time in Sweden.
