The imprisoned R'n'B singer R Kelly's daughter says in a new documentary series that her father subjected her to abuse when she was a child, reports Billboard.
He was my everything. For a long time, I didn't even want to believe it myself, says the now 26-year-old Buku Abi, baptized Joann Kelly, in an episode of "R Kelly's karma: A daughter's journey".
I was too scared to tell anyone. I was too scared to tell my mom, she says.
Abi says the abuse occurred when she was 8-9 years old.
Kelly denies the allegations.
Kelly is already serving 30 years in prison after a jury in New York convicted him of organized crime and sex trafficking in 2021. In 2022, he was sentenced to 20 years in prison according to a separate indictment for sexual offenses.
