The Svea Court of Appeal upholds the verdict of incitement against a group of people against Salwan Najem, who set fire to Qurans in several high-profile actions together with Salwan Momika.

Najem is convicted of incitement against an ethnic group in four cases, as in the district court. The penalty is set at daily fines.

The verdict concerns four high-profile Quran burnings that he carried out together with Salwan Momika in Stockholm in the summer of 2023.

In connection with the burnings, which received considerable international attention and sparked outrage in large parts of the Muslim world, they wrapped Qurans in pork, kicked them and made offensive and derogatory statements about Muslims.

Salwan Momika was also charged in the district court for the same events, but he was shot dead in his home in Södertälje the day before the district court verdict was due. A 24-year-old man was arrested in absentia in October on suspicion of the murder. He is believed to be abroad.
