The American music and film producer, musician, and songwriter Quincy Jones is dead.
Jones' spokesperson Arnold Robinson states that the music icon passed away on Sunday in Bel Air, Los Angeles, with his family by his side.
"Tonight, we are forced, crushed, to announce that our father and brother Quincy Jones has passed away. And although it is an immense loss for our family, we celebrate his magnificent life and achievements and know that there will never be anyone like him," the family says in a statement.
Released solo album in 1955
Quincy Jones broke through as a jazz musician but later made a name for himself as a pop producer and then moved freely between different genres.
