After a few minutes of trading, the broad OMXS index was up 0.2 percent.
Among the winners is Volvo, which rose 2-3 percent after releasing its financial report. Tele2, which also reported, received the opposite reception, its shares falling 3.5 percent.
Among smaller companies, Nordnet is this morning's winner, its stock rising 4.5 percent after its financial report.
Yesterday, the Stockholm Stock Exchange closed slightly higher. In the US, developments were mixed, but the tech-heavy Nasdaq Stock Exchange hit a new record with several of the tech giants leading the way. Ahead of the opening, futures trading points to continued gains.
Overnight in Asian trading, markets were down in Tokyo but up in Hong Kong.
The krona has strengthened slightly. One dollar costs 8.80 kronor, while the euro is quoted at 10.56 kronor.
