Queuing initiative has left more urgent patients waiting, SVT reports

In the regions' reports to the National Board of Health and Welfare, most say the initiative has resulted in shorter waiting times, but also that it has led to or risks leading to other care being delayed.

Health Minister Elisabet Lann (KD) tells SVT that the investment should not affect more needy patients.

I would like to remind you that the regions are not profit-making companies. If they are driven by economic incentives and deviate from the principle of need, they are making a serious mistake.

The regions say they take responsibility for priorities, but that long-term, general government grants would reduce the risk of displacement and misprioritisation.
