The quark shelves in grocery stores are empty. Consumers appear to be buying the protein-rich, low-fat dairy product in large quantities. Producers do not have time to produce the product in the quantities that are in demand.
According to Sara Paulsson, just over 40 percent of Swedes consume quark. The company has been experiencing a "boom," a recent sharp rise.
We produce around the clock to meet demand, and products are continuously replenished in stores.
But we know that it still happens that the shelves empty faster than we can replenish them, Paulsson said, adding that production capacity will be expanded in September.
