The result means that everything is open for Sunday's decisive return in Värnamo.
We are clearly not satisfied with playing evenly, but considering how the match looks and we play with one man less for 70 minutes, we are still relatively satisfied with the result, says Värnamo's Joel Voelkerling Persson, who fixed the 2-2 equalizer, to Max.
The match started at 19:55 - almost an hour after the scheduled time.
Just before 19 o'clock, a bag was thrown onto the arena from outside the fence. The bag contained a lot of pyrotechnics, said match delegate Olle Möller to the TV company Max.
The standing section was emptied
Since the bag was essentially emptied of its contents, the audience had to leave the standing section to ensure that no pyrotechnics could be lit.
When the ball finally got rolling, Värnamo took the lead in the 13th minute when center-back Emin Grozdanic headed in a fine free-kick from veteran Simon Thern.
Grozdanic continued to be in the center of events during the first act. First, he received a warning for a jersey pull, and in the 37th minute, he stretched out an arm to stop a deep pass - when he was near midfield. Another yellow card followed, which led to referee Kristoffer Karlsson also showing the red variant to Grozdanic.
Thern substituted
Värnamo's lead did not last for even five minutes of the second half. Then, Robin Dzabic clipped in the equalizer for Landskrona, who have not played in the top division for 19 years, from distance.
The home team substituted in Kofi Asare in the 63rd minute - three minutes later, the 22-year-old set the leading goal for Landskrona after a fine rollout on the left flank.
Shortly after, came the next blow for Värnamo when the important cog Thern was forced to substitute after colliding with a home defender. Thern looked groggy as he walked off the pitch.
Värnamo as a team was not knocked out, however. In the 86th minute, substitute Joel Voelkerling Persson reached the highest on a corner and could steer in the 2-2 ball with his shoulder.
IFK Värnamo made their Allsvenskan debut in the 2022 season and has been playing in the top division since then.
