The new version of the club team World Championship is in the final phase and has received both criticism and praise. Despite this, the format is planned to be used again at the next tournament in four years, 2029.
Qatar is, according to The Guardian, interested in hosting the tournament. The newspaper reports that representatives from the country have had meetings with leading Fifa representatives during the summer tournament in the USA, where they expressed their desire to arrange the 2029 edition.
It is also said that Qatar has proposed that the tournament could be held during the winter – just like they did with the World Championship 2022 – to avoid the extreme summer heat in the country.
At the same time, The Guardian reports that Qatar may face competition for the host role. Among others, Brazil and Spain are said to be interested in taking care of the arrangement.
