Putin threatens war against NATO

Green light for Ukraine to strike with advanced weapons against targets deeper in Russia would mean war with NATO, threatens Vladimir Putin. It would fundamentally change the conflict, says the Russian president.

In Washington, it is being discussed whether Ukraine should be allowed to direct donated long-range weapons against targets deep inside Russia.

In London, a decision is said to have already been made to let the Ukrainian military fire ballistic Storm Shadow missiles against Russia, writes The Guardian.

Ukraine has primarily requested to be allowed to use so-called Atacms missiles to a greater extent, with a range of up to 30 miles.

This would mean that NATO countries, the USA, and European countries are at war with Russia, says Putin to Russian state TV.

If this happens, we will, in view of the changed conflict, take appropriate measures based on the threats we face.

The Russian president has repeatedly spoken about "red lines" for attacks on Russia during the war.

US President Joe Biden and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer are meeting in Washington on Friday.
